Lucky me. There was still the
original broadcast document under the front seat. However it's very hard
to find out what all those numbers means... |
 |
These pictures are from 60's. The first owners relatives founded these
pictures and send them to me. Thank you very much!! You can see the
original license number and also the old taxi sign on the top of the
rear bumper. The first owner was that big man in the middle of the
group.

These
pictures are from 80's. One of the previous owners send them to me. He
also made the engine swap from 225cid to 360cid with automatic tranny. |
 |
1993: When I bought this car the front fenders were missing. It
was almost impossible to find original fenders so I took all front end
parts from '64 Plymouth Fury. Also there were a couple of rust fixes and
many other things to do. It take almost two years before the car was on
the road again. The pictures are from spring 1994.
|
 |
1997: The car was my daily driver for three summer. 1997 I purchased
an new project ('72 Charger) and '63 was parked to my parents backyard
waiting for better tomorrow.
|
|
|
Summer 2000: The lost inspiration is almost found. I have
already purchased 440 big block engine and 4-speed manual transmission
with the Pistol-grip floor shifter. This is going to be a true
sleeper...
|

  |
Spring 2001: After seven years searching I found the used front
fenders from Swedish car wrecker. These fenders were imported from USA
and they were not like the new ones as you can see from pictures. Well, they need only a little welding...like the rest of the car. |
 |
Autumn 2001: Picture represents how the new front fenders and
other parts fit together. At this moment I have already removed almost
every part from the body. There is no walls in my garage but luckily
there is some sort of roof anyway.
|
| |
July 2002: Project is getting ahead very slowly. This moment
I'm looking for original clutch pedal with mechanism, front turning
signals, front valance panel etc.
|
 |
April 2003: The car was moved to the new garage. Now the total
rebuilding can finally start. I sold my Charger and now I'm going to focus this one.
|
 |
June 2004: The car is totally dismantled and the body is
hanging on a rack waiting for welding. This time I was looking for the front valance panel, front bumber brackets and the
complete
hood latch mechanism.
|

 |
Spring 2005: The car was moved to the new garage at the end of
year 2004. The body is hanging on a rotisserie again and welding is
on process (slowly). Temperature outside of the garage is -20 degrees,
inside between +2 and +5 degrees. Freezing...
|

|
June 2005: The drivers side of the car is now finished.
Unfortunately work with the other side is still ahead...
July -
August 2005: Temperature outside of the garage is 28 degrees, but
inside "only" 19 degrees. So this was a cool and nice place to spend my
three-week summer holiday. ;) Now the right fender is finished
too as well as the windshield cowl panel and the whole engine
compartment.
|
 |
October 2005:
The floor is now almost complete. The shifter hump is welded to
the floor so now there is no way to turning back...manual transmission
is our goal... |

 |
February 2006:
Welding, welding, welding... Is this the neverending story? I
hope not, because now the trunk floor and the package tray are finished
as well as the rear window fence.
I managed to find the lower front valance panel from Usa. It was cutted
for three pieces so that shipping costs would be smaller. Not bad
decision at all...
|
|
August 2006: Once again we had to move to another garage. The
project is getting ahead very very slowly. Problems with my daily
driver... Also my wife recently gave birth to
our first beautiful baby girl so most
likely I have to spend more time with them... :)

September
2007:
The front end of the body is now painted. The original steel
gray-colour was found from the Mazda's colour chips. |

|
March 2008:
New paint under the body. Smaller components are painted with
Por15. |

|
November 2008
The K-member, front suspension and the rear axle with leaf
springs are finally installed into the car.
Final part of the body interior is
now painted with original gray and almost all of the interior parts are
painted with bright red. The original style red is Porsche's Indischrot.
|

|
February 2010
The car was moved to my own garage. Installation continues. Now it's
time to fit the running parts together. |

|
May 2010
Steering wheel restoration with epoxy putty.
August 2010 Pistol grip shifter
doesn't fit with the bench seat. Shifter knob hits to the instrument
panel. I'm unable to move the shifter lower because the bench seat is on the
way. I have to moderate the 1/2 gear linkage a little...
|

|
June 2011 The gearbox is once again removed and restored. New
bearings, sync rings etc... |

|
February 2012 New headliner etc. New
family member ;) |

|
July 2012 The powerline is now installed and the engine compartment
is nearly finished. Brake lines are there, electrical wirings are almost
complete. The windshield and the rear window are now installed, also
exhaust pipes are almost done.
|
 |
September 2013 We are once again in the new garage. Doors are
installed with windows, weatherstrips and mechanisms, last parts of the
exhaust pipes are finally done. New rear brakes, water stays in the
engine etc.
|
 |
May 2015
The project is getting ahead very very slowly and actually it's
collecting dust in my own garage now. |
 |
September 2016
First test drive after 20 years of sleeping. Needs at least carburetor
and ignition tuning.
|
 |
August 2018
Inspected and registered, at last! In the coming winter - bodywork and
painting. |
 |
August 2021 Painted like new and old style license plates were also
still available. Equipped with new set of modern seat belts. Runs nice, of course
she needs small repairs and adjustments occasionally. |
