Besides this Art Lortie tells:

"Lehtimiehet seem to have purchased the rights from King Features (as opposed to the original publishing houses of King / Charlton / Gold Key) and these rights extend through (at least) issue no. 20. This seems to have left them with a lot of unused artwork, because the following art and stories are NOT PUBLISHED IN FINLAND:

  • 42 pages of Alex Raymond (Tournament of Mongo)
  • 22 pages of Al Williamson (Flash Gordon / Flash Gordon and the Mole Machine)
  • 22 pages of Mac Raboy (Flash Gordon In the Human Forest / Flash Gordon Meets the Evil Genius of the Cosmos)
  • 36 pages of Pat Boyette (In the Land of Djale / The Creeping Menace)
  • 15 pages of Frank Bolle (Death Trap of Mongo)
  • 15 pages of Jeff Jones (Monster Men of Tropica)
  • 10 pages of Ric Estrada (Lost in the Land of the Lizardmen)
  • 12 Flash Gordon covers
  • 3 Mandrake stories (12 pages)
  • 5 Secret Agent X-9 stories (23 pages)
  • 1 Brick Bradford story (4 pages)
  • 4 factual shorts (7 pages)
  • 1 sci-fi reprint (4 pages)

That's an awful lot of good material that went to waste."

I'll add more detailed information in the future. I'm sure Art will help me.

Back to Flash Gordon page - only in Finnish, sorry!
