NEW SONGS ARE COMING! 01/02/04
For the past few months we've been writing and rehearsing new songs for our next release. Smash is going to record three absolutely kick-ass tunes in mr. Arttu Sarvanne's famous Studio Watercastle in the beginning of March. Mp3 samples will be available after the sessions, so stay tuned!

VIDEO AND NEW SONGS ON THEIR WAY! 06/03/03
Smash's next music video from track Hatemanufacture is finally coming! We spent last friday 8 hot and sweaty hours in our tiny rehearsal basement shooting the video. Check out some pictures from the sessions here. In other news: We recorded last week demos of four new songs and they are without a doubt the best shit Smash has so far produced. After we've completed the tracks with vocals we'll put some samples on-line. Hatemanufacture video will be also available as soon as it's finished. Stay tuned!

SMASH IS AGAIN NUMBER ONE IN SWEDEN'S PAPARAZZI'S METAL LIST! 03/01/03

Kerrang magazine (issue April 12) gives Smash three K's! Here's what they wrote:

Very metallic Finns arrive with their mini-album debut.

If Smash are anything to go by, the term old school is clearly back from half term in Finland. Taking their musical cues from Metallica and Anthrax, this quartet bristle with well directed muscle, and even though they only produce one genuinely stunning song, their impact leaves a wide enough crater to warrant a second look.

It's second track 'Shine (Solace In Me)' that leaps from the shadows and surprises you. A great hook is cobbled onto some dense riffs, and whatever singer Timo Heinonen is on about he sounds like he means it. 'Hatemanufacture' is another '80s metal colossus, but a cover of Kiss' 'War Machine' is so faithful it seems superfluous. If Soil and Stone Sour aren't enough of a metal mash, get Smash. Well, not in the official album chart or anything like that, but Smash got the most votes in Sweden's Sisuradio's (Sweden's Finnish speaking radio) February Metal list! The Top 3 is this: 1. Smash: Shine (Solace In Me) 2. Stratovarius: Eagleheart 3. Pornorphans: Razorblade. Thank you to all who voted us!

SOME UPDATES! 02/10/03
Gigs page is updated. The Last Stage EP was reviewed in www.LetsMakeSomeNoise.com music portal, which gave it 4/5 points. Metal portal www.Imperiumi.net gave the EP five stars. Let's hope that other reviews are as good as these were. In other news, Smash is one of the canditates in Sweden's Finnish speaking radio's new Metal List. You can vote Smash here. Nice, heavy, crunchy
Cool drum lead in. Nice crunchy guitar parts. The song immedately grabbed my attention. The singer sounds like a cross between Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) and Geoff Tate (QueensRyche). Very well recorded. If this wasn't done in a professional studio I'll be very impressed. As far as the lyrics go, can't really hear them. Regardless, the way they are sung fit the style of this tune. This is not what I typically listen to but as I hear it it is a top rate song and sounds like anything I would hear on our progressive/metal radio stations in my neck of the woods. Good job!!

Kicked My Ass!
Hitting you hard at first, and coming in even harder after the intro, this band kicks your ass over and over and over throughout the course of the song. The performance is tight and the strange vocal parts throughout the song kept me interested. This is the result of what would happen if Slayer and Godhead were to write together!

NEW SONGS ON-LINE, EP OUT IN JANUARY 2003! 10/02/02/
Allright! Smash spent five days last week in Jyväskylä's most rocking recording studio Studio Watercastle and the results are availabe in Audio & Video page. The bad news is that Smash's debut EP will not be out this year. However, It will be released in January 2003 through small local independent record label Fan records.

BALLSMASHERS FC 05/03/02
Smash has now a football team, Ballsmashers FC, which will participate in Jyväskylä's Rock-Football Tournament next summer (6th July). Smash will also perform in Rock-Football Club at Bar 68 later that evening.
