XENA is a brave warrior princess who fights at the times when the gods of the Greek mythology ruled the world. She fights against all unfairness irrespective of if caused by criminals cruel soldiers or by even more cruel gods of the Greek mythology. |

XENA
is a show which was started on MTV3 channel 4.11.1997 and is now running on wednesdays. One of the main characters is warrior princess Xena and the other one is her companion Gabrielle. The show has reached high popularity in USA, Australia and in many other countries and several fan clubs has been created and more than 100.000 WWW-pages. The popularity is rising also in Finland.
XENA is already on the third season in USA and the number of episodes is 91 (August 1999). XENA was introduces in Hercules, another show running on TV in Finland. Xena was there in three episodes (in Finland in March 1998) and the producer decided to start a new show dedicated to Xena. Partly the same persons and gods are in both shows. |
XENA
was in Hercules a leader of her own army. The army was, however, more like a group of bandits and finally Xena left the army and started to defend the oppressed.
XENA is an invincible fighter in using swords, knifes, fighting staff and chakram and also invincible without them. The greatest benefits are her intelligence and cold calmness. As a former chief of villains she knows well the dark side of people. Lucy Lawless starring XENA is a perfect choice to the role. Tall, 180 cm actress has the ability to look self-confident, arrogant and the intence look of the blue eyes can turn into deep caring when needed. It looks like Lucy is not only acting, but she really enjoys her role. |
