HYVÄSTIT HALE-BOPP:ille
Perjantaina (2.5) oli ensimmäistä kertaa
moneen viikkoon yhtä aikaa pilvetöntä ja minulla aikaa katsoa
Hale-Boppia
Yllätys ja pettymys: klo 23.30 aikaan taivas
oli kuvaamista ajatellen liian valoisa eikä komeettaa näkynyt.
Tarkistin komeetan
lasketun paikan osoitteessa http://www.cwbol.com/astron/comet.html
olevasta taulukosta. Käyttämällä sitä ja yhtä
todella
hyvää PC:lle tehtyä tähtikarttaohjelmaa totesin,
että komeetta laskee noin klo 00.30, ja on hyvin matalalla
klo 23.30. Tämä tietää sitä,
ettei uusia kuvia enään saa otettua Helsingin leveysasteilla.
Se tietää myös, ettei uusia kuvia
tule näille sivuille.
Kiitos siitä, että sivuista tuli mitä
tuli, kuuluu teille jotka olette käyneet (4.5.97 mennessä ) yhteensä
588 kertaa
komeettasivullamme. Suurin kävijämäärä
päivässä oli 58. Katso sivuja 1 ja 2 niin tiedät mikä
oli sivujen alkuperäinen tavoite
Kun kävijämäärä nousi pariinkymmeneen
päivässä, piti sivuja parantaa., sillä en ollut odottanut
sellaista kävijämäärää. Se tiesi
lisää kuvaamista ja lisää sivujen
tekoa. Vaikka en koskaan saanut aikaa viimeistellä sivuja sellaisiksi
kuin olisin halunnut,
lopputulos ylitti alkuperäiset odotukset. Komeettasivu
aiheutti paljon työtä, mutta se kannatti sillä
olen nauttinut hommasta.
Itse komeetan kuvaamisen lisäksi tuli kunnostettua
vanha kaukoputki ja tähtitieteen harrastaminen rupesi taas
kolmenkymmenen vuoden tauon jälkeen kiinnostamaan.

GOOD-BYE TO HALE-BOPP
Friday (2.5) was the first day for several weeks
when at the same time the sky was clear and I had time
to go out to see Hale-Bopp. Suprise and disappointment:
at 23.30 the sky was too light for photographing
and I did not see the comet. I checked the calculated
position of the comet from a table in the address

.Using that information and a very good star map PC programme
I found out that the set time of the comet was
00.30 and it's elevation is very low at 23.30. This means that
it is not possible to get new photos at the latitude
of Helsinki (60 deg N). It means also that there will be
no new photos to these pages.
Of the fact that the pages got their present form
I have to thank all you who came to our comet pages
588 times (untill 4.5.97). The highest number
of visitors for one day was 58. If you look pages 1 and 2, you will
see the original aim of these pages. When the
number of visitors raised to some tens in one day, I had to
improve the pages as I had not anticipated such
a high number. It meant more photographing and more work
with new pages. Even I never got enough time to
finalize the pages the way I had hoped, the result was
better than I ever had dreamed about. The Comet
Page meant a lot of work but it was worth that as
I have enjoyed it
In addition to the photographing itself I also
recondinitioned my old telescope and after a 30 years break
came again interested in atronomy as a hobby.
