| Q1: |
|
How reliable
is the information on these pages? |
| A: |
|
I can't
give guarantee that the information is absolutely
right. I try to verify any information that I
doubt from several sources. So... ALL
CORRECTIONS ARE WELCOME !

| Q2: |
|
How good is
your Portuguese? |
| A: |
|
I am not an
authority in Portuguese and never will be. I
learned my first word in Portuguese in April '97,
I'm just studying the language for my own
enjoyment.

| Q3: |
|
What sources
do you use? |
| A: |
|
I use
normal text books, grammar books, dictionaries,
web sites and friendly people (to whom I own many
thanks).

| Q4: |
|
"How do
I say 'my name is...' in Portuguese?" |
| A: |
|
I will try
to answer these questions if I know the answer,
and I will try to build slowly but uncertainly
www-pages about most used phrases. I hope that
the Bulletin board will act as a place to ask
questions (and if you know an answer to
someone's question, please post it there too, it
should be a two-way street). (By the
way, "O meu nome é..." is the answer)

YES, please
! If you have any material you would like to
contribute, please let me know.

| Q6: |
|
Who is the
bulletin board for? |
| A: |
|
It is for
everyone, who wants to discuss or ask something.
I too hope to find answers through it.

What can I
post to the bulletin board? |
| A: |
|
Anything
you like that has some distant connection to the
Brazilian Portuguese language. Anything...

| Q8: |
|
Why
did you start studying Portuguese? |
| A: |
|
This is the
most common question (Well, why would a finn
start learning Portuguese). I wanted to learn one
latin language and I already was starting to
learn French, but then one brazilian friend said
why not study Portuguese. Good question... :-)

| Q9: |
|
How
is Brazil? |
| A: |
|
I don't
know... Wish I would! People think that I am
brazilian and/or living in Brazil, but I am 100%
pure finn. I am only dreaming of warm weather.

| Q10: |
|
Is
this non-profit site? |
| A: |
|
Yes. I do
not get paid by any source to manage these pages,
on the contrary, I pay (although very small sum)
to have these pages on the net.

| Q11: |
|
Why
were these www-pages made? |
| A: |
|
I looked for grammar in the www, but
couldn't find any. I decided to make my own
notes, so these www-pages are just a
concise peek. If you are looking for
a good grammar book, I can recommend
"Portuguese essential grammar" by
Amélia P. Hutchinson and Janet Lloyd, ISBN
0-415-13708-X (paperback)and 0-415-13708-1 (hard
cover).
More information about books can be
found here.
