F/A-18 in the US Navy service

F/A-18 in the US Marine Corps service

The US Marine Corps use extensively the F/A-18 in the close air support role and train effectively also in the air-to-air role. From the USMC F/A-18D Hornet -site you can learn USMC's views of using the Night Attack version of the Hornet. Check also for two Marine air stations in California : Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, where finnish pilots flew some F/A-18 evaluation flights in 1991 and "Fightertown USA" Naval Air Station Miramar, where some finnish pilots have visited during USN F/A-18 training and conferences. CF-18 in the Canadian service

Canada's Air Command has been using the CF-18 for more than a decade. Finnish Air Force has been very interested in the experiences that the Canadians have had with their Hornets in the cold climate. That's why our pilots have visited Canada's largest Hornet base - Cold Lake in Alberta twice prior to USN training. A CF-18 from the 410 Tactical Fighter (Operational Training) Squadron, Cold Lake banks over Canada.
