GENERAL
AIR WAR:
v A 20 x F-111F Raid Package, led by Capt Matt Young / Capt Greg Chapman, attacked
Tallil Air Base (southeast Iraq) and made direct hits on its ammunition storage area
that resulted in the largest man-made, non-nuclear, explosion ever recorded on the
Defense Support Program's (DSP) missile warning satellite which threw smoke up to
over 30,000 feet. Only the first aircraft was able to drop its weapons.
v approximately 80 x Iraqi Aircraft have been flown into Iran
v Coalition Forces Announce that they have Air Supremacy
v 26 x kills in air combat reported to date
v USN send A-6 strikes after Iraqi shipping in Bubiyan Channel, at Umm Qasr,
and in Kuwaiti Harbors
v A Coast Guard VC-11A Gulfstream arrives with an interagency team to study the oil spill in the Gulf created by Saddam
