Coursing Meets 1999

Karkkila June 13, 1999

The Karkkila coursing meet was held on a motocross track. The warm weather was very uncomfortable for both dogs and their owners. Two Deerhounds took part in this event: Kerslake Angie and Loch Beltane Bas - Bleu. Points were awarded as follows: Kerslake Angie 0 and Loch Beltane Bas - Bleu 165. The points were awarded according to international practice.

Osara July 4, 1999

The Tampere International Coursing race took place on a large field. The track was most suitable for Deerhounds and even the weather was agreeable, being semi-overcast with temperatures of about 20° Celsius (68° F). There were five Deerhounds and the points were divided in the following manner:

Magbeth`s Bon Bon: 208, 218 = 426 Cert

Kerslake Aralia: 201, 200 = 401

Sweetscot Megasheen: 192, 205 = 397

Magbeth`s Henrietta: 199, 190 = 389

Loch Beltane Bas - Bleu: 185, 182 = 367

Ylä-Kintaus July 31, 1999

Jyväs - Coursing was held near the Central Finland city of Jyväskylä. The weather was again warm but luckily the Deerhounds had their first run in the cool of the morning. However the finals proved to be a far sweatier event. The hilly grass field track surface was heavy going and the route consisted of lots of curves which made getting decent points very difficult. There were four Deerhounds with the points being distributed in the following way:

Kerslake Aralia: 56, 66 = 122 Cert

Loch Beltane Bas - Bleu: 58, 53 = 111

Magbeth`s Bon Bon: 68, 41 = 109

Magbeth`s Henrietta: 54, 24 = 78
These points were calculated using the older method.
