Deerhounds are at their best at home. They are gentle and not easily excited; in fact it can be difficult to notice them at all... though of course if you intend to watch TV it is likely that you find that your couch has been appropriated and you end up sitting on the floor. You see, Deerhounds have a special relationship with couches.
As any Deerhound will tell you, sofas are comfortable and make good vantage points from which it is possible to keep an eye on what is happening at home. Provided of course the dog is able to keep even one of his or her eyes open that long... after all, taking naps on couches is the favorite pastime of any Deerhound.
