Child and Hound
The best (and only) participant in the Child and Hound class of our
1998 Match Show was the three-year-old Jenni Honkaniemi and her even younger deerhound Mimosa. Looking at the pair, you might think that Jenni could run into problems with a dog of this size but there is nothing to be concerned about - Jenni has two of these dogs at home and she is an experienced show handler.
As a veteran show dog Mimosa knows that there is always a huge pile of excellent dog food right at the side of the ring... but getting at it has always been impossible. Well, now for once she has got a handler who understands the way dogs work. Ahhh... all this food just for me. Now, what should I begin with... A wise deerhound owner, Jenni realizes that correct nutrition is the key to canine health and therefore the dog can eat whatever she wants to. Unfortunately Mimosa's culinary fantasies are interrupted by Sanna Jääskeläinen who quickly steers the dog back into the ring...
