Studies on the Works of J.R.R. Tolkien

Despite not knowing much about the topic, I have sometimes ventured to write about Tolkien's invented languages and writing systems.

A shorter collection of similar writings in Finnish can be found at Kirjoituksia Tolkienin kielistä ja kirjoitusjärjestelmistä.

Also available is an English summary for an incomplete Finnish document I once started writing: Writing Finnish in Tengwar.

Translations

To my knowledge, two translations of "Are High Elves Finno-Ugric?" are in existence. An Italian translation by Raffaella Benvenuto has been published on the Eldalie.it website. A translation into Polish by Karolina Stopa-Olszanska and Tadeusz A. Olszanski has appeared in Simbelmynë 16 (published in late 2003) and, with corrections, in Aiglos 1 (early 2004). I speak neither of these languages, but it seems clear that both translations have been prepared with much greater care and erudition than the original article. I thank the translators and editors for showing such interest in my writings.
